So, there have been a few posts lately where I’ve said ‘I’ll get back to you’ and true to my word…
Yesterday was Country Bebe and I’s first outing on our bike. My heart was in my mouth for the first mile of our journey as I wobbled along by the river, but he loved it. His eyes were glued to the waterfalls/falling leaves/squirrels. It took us 7 minutes flat to do a journey that takes 30 mins on foot. We’re hooked.
He’s also started wearing his Boden snowsuit I wrote about here, and it’s a winner. It’s not too bulky, so perfect for the bike and the integrated mittens are a god-send as he can’t fling them off mid-ride. It’s waterproof and I love the double-zip opening at the front, it’s quick and simple to put on and off which is ESSENTIAL with a wriggly toddler. There are cuffs at the ankle/wrist and the elasticated hood is really snug, with the fleecy lining too it’s going to keep him warm all winter.
My bracelet from Merci Maman arrived yesterday and I LOVE IT. I had it engraved with Benedict (husband) and Pip (aka Dante, aka Country Bebe – he is affectionately referred to as Pip as when we found out he was on his way he was the size of an apple pip). On the flip side I chose ‘for you are my home’. It seemed apt that after the big move from London to the country, it has instilled in me that home is not a place but a sense of belonging with people you love. These two boys are my definition of home.
[…] The little disc arrived here via my bracelet from Merci Maman. The cord has long since fall apart but the sterling silver disc is engraved ‘Benedict & Pip’ (husband and Country Bebe respectively), then on the reverse ‘for you are my home’, a little token to our newly founded family unit for when I am away from my men.
