I haven’t posted any ‘snapshots’ of our new 60s home for a while, and the next project on our hands for this winter is the dining room.
We’ve been lusting after an amazing, 20th century design dining set since we moved in, so have put up with our ubiquitous scrubbed oak table until now, which was fine in our Georgian London flat but looks rather too clunky in our new 60s, modern home.
To kick start our project The Italian’s Nonna has gifted us her original set of six Saarinen chairs, that graced their breakfast room in the 60s/70s (they are currently in a garage in Highgate but they’re exactly like this):
Now all we need is the Saarinen Tulip table to go with them:
These snaps make me *very* excited indeed, I love the sleek simplicity of the design and the cosiness of a circular family dining table really appeals, too.
I’m thinking of having the seat pads recovered in this classic print from Sanderson:
Eek! Off to scour Ebay now, I’ll let you know how I get on!
