On… hammocks

One of my main loves when it comes to country living is an early evening swing in a hammock. Preferably accompanied by my trusty Roberts wireless and a G&T.

My parents have the perfect pair of apple trees to string a hammock between, offering dappled shade in the summer and perfect snacking material when engrossed in a good book come autumn.

I have been hunting the interweb for the solution to my tree-less garden (more of which later) and have stumbled across a beauty from the aptly named, Simply Hammocks

Yes, the Olymp hammock stand is £279 (down from £369), but it will last a lifetime (or at least 15 odd years). Add in a natural linen double hammock and you’re topping £300. A lot of dosh some may argue but, if like me, you spend more time outdoors than you do inside for 4 months of the year – it’s a snip. I can write in it, snooze, play with Country Bebe and even stargaze under a blanket with the husband. Priceless.
